The 14th Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyalso facilitated Grammy Award 2026 at the 68th Annual Grammy Award in 2nd February 2026 at Los Angeles. At the age of 90 years old, he accepted the recognition with gratitude for viewing it as a celebration of shared universal responsibility rather than personal triumph. The winning album of features the Dalai Lama teaching on compassion, inner peace and kindness often set to music. The award was accepted on behalf of the Dalai Lama by musician Rufus Walnwright. The Dalai Lama awarded for best audio book narration and the story telling recording. (for Meditations : the reflections of his holiness the Dalai Lama) Global leaders including the chief minister of Sikkim congratulated him calling it a milestone that highlights the universal appeal of the message. The president of India and Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi also congratulated him or not ? This seems to be a big question mark. We have not seen the open views. Whereas the Chinese Government criticised it as "Anti China Political Manipulation."
The past history of the Dalai Lama is a different one. But he is a real spiritual leader. The Dalai Lama fled to India in 1959 due to the cause of the Chinese Government. China invaded Tibet or we can say that Tibet under PRC (People's Republic of China) from 1950, it is due to 2nd World War politics. Before the 2nd World War Tibet was Independence country. The Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru supported China and Babasaheb Dr. Ambedkar was not in favour of Nehru's this foreign policy, it is due to our security causes. We now see the situation of China - India relations. I can write a book on this big issue, but here are some word limitations. The Chinese Government then insulted the Pancham Lama, Lobsang Tribley Lhundrub Chokyi Gyaltdon, who was a puppet of China, as a figurehead in Lhasa, who died at the age of 50 in 1989. Tibetan under PRC from 1950. The PRC claims its rule has improved Tibet, but the Human Right Organisation reports were a violation. Most governments recognised PRC's sovereignty over Tibet and do not recognise the Tibetan Government - in - exile. From 1959 to 60, the Chinese Communists destroyed most of Tibet's 6000 monasteries. During the Cultural revolution Red Guard vandalized cultural sites across China, including Tibet's Buddhist Heritage. In 1980, General Secretary Hu Yaobang reduced the number of Han officials in Tibet and relaxed social controls.
The Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyalso gained international attention when he won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 for the dedication to peaceful protest against Chinese rule in Tibet. His global recognition has led to meetings with various World leaders. He received the Congressional Gold Medal from President Bush in 2007 and became one of only seven honorary Canadian citizens in 2006. The Chinese Government consistently protests any official interaction with him. I was associated with the free Tibet Liberation Movement very long before. I hosted a flag on Tibet Long March Rally in Pratapgarh (Gothangaon) Dist Gondia also agitation of Nagpur. I organised the World Buddhist Conferences in 2006, 2013, 2014, 2015 and Women Buddhist Conference in 2015 under the banner of my organisations Jeewak Society, Ashwaghosha Buddhist Foundation and Civil Rights Protection Cell. Under my Chairmanship World Buddhist Conference was held in 2006, we passed the resolution no. 3(a) China and Tibet - This conference supports the demands of the Buddhist of Tibet for genuine autonomy and appeals to China to stop suppression of Tibetan. It also advises China to bring Democracy to its people; when it has already left communism and adopted capitalism in the name of Globalisation. At that conference we passed a lot of resolutions for global peace. On behalf of all my organisations and wings, I congratulated the H.H. Dalai Lama.
